Voodoo Vodun Fetish, Fon culture, Benin Height: 49 cm.

Intriguing fetish with a very elongated face, the eyes are staggered at the level of the forehead, simply suggested by two notches. The rest of the face is more finely carved. With magical load on its belly, a dog’s skull was tied by strings in the colours of the Voodoo, red, white and black. Dry patina of origin. Beautiful ancient and authentic Voodoo object of collection. Around 1940.

The piece was published and exhibited in 2011 on the occasion of the “Étranges objets” (Strange objects) exhibition.
