The item described below is very rare and hardly not to find.
It is in an excellent mint condition, no damages, no scratches and also the locks are fine.
An antique oak wooden photo framing device with 5 frames - circa 1915 - to make depth in a picture, as an extension of the bellows camera trough nowadays called “Passe-Partouts”,
but than in oak wood, in excellent condition; fully foldable.
Fabricated in the early twenties by Maison MARIJNEN J. Bruxelles Belgium (see the copper plate on the front) which was a welknown photographic cabinetmaker for specific wooden intstruments, mostly photographical.
The successor of Marynen Bruxelles was “Maison Rudolphe, Jng. Engineer Bruxelles; you can find several photographical wooden objects made by Maison Rudolphe in a LATER period.
The wooden frames “Passe-Partouts” are framed in a box, and you can chose seperately which one to use, depending of the photograph you are making.
—-> The craftmanship is wonderful, no screws, only wood tenon connection, made by hand, and the wooden box and the “Passe-Partouts” fit in one another to the mm!
With a thumb wooden notch, to get it out easily.
The case is 3-dimensial to work with, with two hinges and two metal sticks to keep it save in balance, and a draw to save material to use.
Also the glassplate is in excellent condition.
Measures: 39 x 39 x 10cm ( in closed condition)
