Optical toy Peepshow view. View from Wandsworth Hill, looking towards Fulham. 1753 By John Boydell (1719-1804) Engraving size 42 x 24 cm. Putney Bridge and Fulham from Wandsworth Hill. Meant to be viewed in a Peepbox, it was a popular toy in the years 1750 till 1875. Printed on gray cardboard. This print date back to around 1753 and is 250 years old. The etched or engraved prints were usually hand colored.
