Entirely handwritten card of Adelaide Ristori del Grillo, a Risorgimento tragic actress.
Ristori expresses thanks to the lawyer Almachilde Pellegrini of Lucca for the closeness expressed to her in a particularly painful period, immediately after the death of her husband the Marquis Giuliano Capranica del Grillo, who died in 1892.
The high-weight paper card is set for mourning and complete with the posted envelope, with a postmark.

Adelaide Ristori (Cividale del Friuli, 29 January 1822 - Rome, 9 October 1906) was an Italian theatre actress. Acclaimed by the public and praised by her contemporaries for her patriotism, she was the most famous and influential Italian actress of the nineteenth century.
