Jean-Étienne Guettard (1715-1786), naturalist, geologist and curator of the Cabinet d'histoire naturelle du Duc d'Orléans, was the first to have surveyed and mapped France's geological heritage. This work consists of various memoirs of natural history, based on his interesting discoveries relating to geology, mineralogy, botany, conchyliology, zoology and palaeontology.
Apart from the mentioned imperfections, this copy of this uncommon and treasured work is in good condition.
