A Night At The Opera was Queen's fourth studio LP. Released on November 21, 1975, it featured fan favorite songs such as Love Of My Life and You're My Best Friend. By all accounts, it wasn't an easy album to record, but it also became one of Freddie Mercury's most successful and influential works of art.
A Night At The Opera derives from the eponymous title from the 1935 Marx Brothers comedy, which the band allegedly saw in the studio while recording the LP. The 1976 album, A Day At The Races, also borrowed its title from the Marxes.
In particular, the album cost the equivalent of $ 500,000 today (almost 500,000 euros) to be released in 1975, which has earned it the most expensive rock album ever made. This is also explained by the fact that the band has recorded in six studios across the UK.
