Rare third edition of the famous "Herbario nuovo" by Castore Durante, printed in the Venetian typography of Giunti in 1636 (the first edition is from 1585).
It is the most famous Italian herbarium (it had dozens of later editions).
The binding is in fair condition, early 20th-century coloured cardboard, with handwritten titles on the applied cartouche. Descriptions of plants are in both Latin and Italian.

The copy is in fair condition, except for a large stain on the first 5 sheets and some other sporadic stains. Relatively clean interior, the paper is thick.
The photos are part of the description.
Complete with about 1000 beautiful woodcuts of plants and herbs made by Isabella Parasole (see PRITZEL, 2552; NISSEN, 569).
