More about this watch by Hodinkee Magazine " ... One of the legacy models by Universal Genève is the Compax series. Starting in 1935, the Compax was the ultimate three-register chronograph produced diligently by the manufacturer. Its archives show that this model came in a multitude of shapes and with a variety of features in just over 185 different Compax references. Throughout the decades, the series went through a design evolution, but it did not lose its main purpose as a reliable tool watch with keeping functionality and legibility in the forefront. This example is housed in a large 38mm case, which was certainly considered to be on the large side at the time. The silver sunburst dial has gained a light patina, and the the sunken sub-dials with concentric circles give additional depth to the dial. The blue tachymeter scale on the outer track and blued steel chronograph seconds hand give the watch a nice accent. The movement is a caliber 130 (essentially a Valjoux 72), which is the same movement that was used in vintage Rolex Daytona models in the same period... "
