Painter, draughtsman and illustrator, José Luís Florit started his studies between Olot and Figueras, under the direction of the painter Juan Núñez. After this initial period he settled in Madrid, where he studied Fine Arts at the San Fernando school. In order to complete his studies, in 1935 he moved to Paris, where he came into contact with the different existing avant-gardes, while always maintaining a very personal style. On his return he settled in Barcelona. He was a founding member of the group Artistas en Acción and he held several exhibitions, both individual and collective. Among them stand out the ones held at the Museum of Modern Art of Madrid (1935) and at the Venice Biennale. He also attended the Exposiciones Nacionales de Bellas Artes, where he obtained a medal in 1934. He is represented at the Museum of Modern Art of Madrid.
