Tudor Rolph manufactured in 1945, with ETA 2784 movement. An unusual model at the time, since Rolex traditionally used more movement jewels than Tudor. This was a popular movement, and probably one of the best available at the time.
Gordon J. Rolph was arguably one of the best watchmakers in the USA. He also worked in the development of Ball prototype watches. In 1946 produced watches for Hamilton, including the rare hand wind movement 982 on 19 jewels. He had his name printed on several of the watches sold by his San Francisco store in the 1940s and 1950s.
