Donald Southam Lawrence (born on November 17th, 1928 in East Sheen, London) and died in Jevington, East Sussex on December 29th, 2003, was an English cartoonist.
Lawrence is best known for his sci-fi series: The Trigan Empire, published in the English weekly newspapers Ranger (En) and Look and Learn (En), and Storm, published for the first time by the Dutch weekly Eppo.
His realistic and detailed style inspired other English cartoonists, such as Brian Bolland, Dave Gibbons and Chris Weston.
He also directed the stories of Karl the Viking and Olac the Gladiator.
